Investigation Mode[]
Whenever a body is discovered by two players, a school-wide announcement will be made about a body being discovered on school premises with "Investigation Mode" going into effect. Players will be unable to swing any weapons after 30 seconds has passed since the first body announcement, but murders by choking, falling, or other exotic means can still occur during "Investigation Mode". Players will initially be given 5 minutes to investigate the crime scene, check in with other players, and confirm alibis during this time with more time being added upon the discovery of more bodies.
Players can attempt to go to Trial earlier by typing in /forcevote
in chat after a minimum of 4 minutes has passed.
Corpses cannot be moved during "Investigation Mode".
Trial Mode[]
When "Investigation Mode" is finished, players will be sent to a courtroom. They will be given 30 seconds to prepare their opening statements or 40 seconds if there was a victim that was skinned. If there have been multiple murders, the most recent victim will be identified as the relevant victim for the trial. After everyone has given their opening statements, players will be given seven minutes or more to determine who is the culprit behind the murders. When the allotted time for discussion is up, players will be given 30 seconds to vote on who they think is the culprit. After everyone has voted, there will be a one minute grace period where the Killer can confess to the crimes or the dammed can lament on the fact that everyone was a fucking idiot muse on who was the true Killer. The votes will be tallied at the end, and either the Killer or the Innocents will die, falling to their deaths.
Players can also type in /forcevote
to go directly to voting after a minimum of one minute has passed.
Trivia[]
- There are rare circumstances in which players will immediately be sent into voting mode upon completing opening statements in a Trial. The current guess behind why this occurs is due to an abnormally high amount of murders during the round which breaks the game's logic on determining how many minutes the Trial should have. This results in the timer overflowing into 0 as it exceeds the programmed range. It is currently unknown if this was patched.
- There was an old glitch in which someone could avoid being voted at the end of Trial. If a player noticed that a majority of players were voting against them, they could do
/spectate
before the votes are tallied to avoid death. This would always result in the votes directed towards them being counted as a "no vote", and could potentially kill all the Innocents, depending on who was voted. This glitch has since been patched. - Kills can still occur during Trial mode, although it's incredibly rare. It usually involves a certain item.
- Previously, players could enter Trial in "Bleedout" mode in the older Motel map. They would still die, however.
